Gift Guide – for the Mama-to-be

Trying to dress cute, in the winter, while pregnant, can be quite a challenge! While I bought the majority of my staples (tees, colored jeans, cords, etc.) at Old Navy, here are some of my favorite, keepsake pieces that make you feel like not much has changed except for the bump.

1. Hatch Cape
I am in LOVE with this line of maternity clothing. Every item is super chic and can be worn at any stage of maternity, before and after baby! No ruching please! I just won this cape by participating in their photo contest on Facebook and I screamed so loud when I found out I won that Matt thought we were having the baby! No baby yet, but I cannot wait to rock this gorgeous cape, thanks ladies of Hatch!!!

2. Hatch Boyfriend Sweater – the elbow patches make me drool. Love!

3. J Brand maternity jeans are the BOMB. These were the best thing I purchased during my pregnancy – they are super comfortable (low rise, not belly covering, which in my personal opinion is much more comfortable!) and make your legs still look great!

4. Maternity fitness clothes are hard to come by. I live in my Lululemon jacket but it’s tough to zip at this point! This one by Mountain Mama looks super cute and comfy! I have the Mountain Mama fleece pants and while they are super wide legged they are great for cold hikes with the bump and the pup!

 5. Tory Burch Baby Bag – I have searched high and wide for THE baby bag and was crazy excited when Tory Burch launched one for the holidays! How great is this?! Available in black, pink and navy!

6. Maternal America Navy Shift Dress – this is my dress of the season so be warned that you may see it many times with many different necklaces!

Gift Guide – for the Fashionista

I’d add any of these items to my closet!

1. Tory Burch Daria Silk Tunic – love for all seasons!

2. J.Crew Matchstick Velvet Jeans – beautiful skinnies for holiday parties!

3. Barbour – is it so terrible to want them all? I love the motorcycle chic element of this one!

4. Anthropologie Tulle Skirt – grown up ballerina, gorge!

5. J.Crew Gingham PJs – a snuggly and cute way to end the night!

Gift Guide – Stocking Stuffers

There are only 2 weeks left until Christmas! Check the blog every day this week for our favorite gifts! Below are some fab stocking stuffer ideas, enjoy!

1. J.Crew battery back-up for the iPhone – small, compact and cute!

2. Li2

2. Lilly Pulitzer koozies are so cute! I have one from years ago that I still use. They’re great for more than beer cans, try a seltzer on a walk with the dog, a gingie when you don’t feel so hot, I could go on & on! Gotta love anything Lilly:)

3. Kate Spade Gia pouch – first off, I love flat pouches. This was something I tried to sneak into the line every season when I worked at kate. They are perfect for traveling, throwing in your bag when you have a date after work, organizing your gym (or baby!) bag, and more. And this one is too perfect for words. I have very fond memories of mornings like this (thank you Tortilla Flats!)

4. Another fab find from Kate Spade – an “Arm Candy” slap bracelet! So clever ladies!

5. The best lip color in the world – it’s clear and pulls out the natural color of your lips. It’s a lifesaver!

Tasty Tuesday – Thanksgiving Salad

Happy almost Thanksgiving!

I made this salad twice last week it was so good and it’s the perfect addition to a Thanksgiving feast! Enjoy!

Adopted from Marla Meredith

Pomegranate seeds (Trader Joe’s has these and they are delicious!)

1 large sweet potato

Dash of cinnamon

Dash of ginger

Splash of olive oil

Splash of maple syrup

3 pieces bacon

Cheese -I used fontina once and parmesan another time, original recipe calls for Gruyere, use your favorite!

1. Preheat oven to 450′

2. Chop sweet potato into 1/4″ cubes

3. Season sweet potato w/ cinnamon, olive oil, maple syrup and ginger

4. Cook bacon – I cheat and use the mircrowave because it saves time, cook it however you do on Saturday morning! Crumble into small pieces after bacon is cooked.

5. Assemble salad – spinach topped with bacon, sweet potatoes, pomegranate seeds and grated cheese

6. Dress salad – I use Brianna’s French Vinaigrette
